Today I’d like to discuss the topic of exactly what the term “digital nomad” means to me. Please chime in at the comments section if you have something to add. Are you a digital nomad yourself? Tell me about your experiences.

To me, a digital nomad is someone who has locality freedom due to their ability to make a full-time income exclusively online. They can travel or live wherever their travels bring them and they aren’t held back by being stuck to a job. It’s the same as simply being a “nomad”, but in a digital sense.

I really do love this type of digital nomad lifestyle and strive to continue living it everyday. It is true freedom for me.

I know several digital nomads around the world from the Couchsurfing website and have created some priceless friendships and allies no matter I happen to be dwelling at the moment.

If you appreciate the digital nomad as much as I do, you can find a lot of wisdom in their way of life. They really do teach us that life is not about confinement, mundane repetitive tasks, and ordinary comforts. For the digital nomad, it’s about extraordinary experiences and taking calculated risks.

I get a lot of inspiration from the digital nomad friends I have and it gives me the courage to continue on my own digital nomad journey that has taken me around the world over the past year. I have to say, I wouldn’t trade this way of life for anything!
